Code. Design. Family. Country.
A full-stack developer's account of building civic technology for the Philippines from a desk in Abu Dhabi, between the workday and bedtime, one commit at a time.

By day, I am a full-stack developer and designer for an ICT company in Abu Dhabi. By night, after my wife and four-year-old daughter are asleep, my focus shifts to a higher calling: building the digital infrastructure that demands transparency, democratizes education, and empowers citizens in the Philippines. Free time is a hard-earned luxury, but I believe we have a profound responsibility to use our skills to uplift society.
My Civic Blueprint
My advocacy relies on deployed solutions, not passive commentary. I dedicate my spare hours to three core initiatives:
- BetterSolano.org (Local Empowerment): I designed and engineered this web and mobile ecosystem to bring absolute digital transparency to my hometown. By making civic data instantly accessible, it empowers every Solanoan to hold local leaders accountable and actively shape our community's future.
- Abakada.org (Democratizing Education): Premium software should not gatekeep learning. As the sole creator, designer, and developer, I built this platform to catalog over 1,300 open-source apps. Its minimalist design breaks down financial barriers, ensuring marginalized Filipino students and underfunded educators have free access to powerful digital tools.
- BetterGov.ph (Institutional Accountability): Systemic change requires public clarity. As a core contributor, I code new features, fix bugs, and improve the user interface. I also design infographics and manage our LinkedIn and Facebook pages, translating complex civic data into accessible visual truth to foster a culture of nationwide accountability.
A Bridge Back Home
Building my life in the UAE with my family has not distanced me from the challenges of my homeland.
I may be miles away, but every interface I design and every line of code I write is a bridge back home. I do not need a political platform to drive societal change, just a willingness to offer my spare time and my technical stack to help build a fairer, more transparent Philippines, one commit at a time.
Have something worth building well?
Whether for a full-time role, a startup venture, or a collaborative project, I take on a select number of engagements each quarter. If you need a senior partner who holds both the architecture and the implementation in the same head, let's build something.
